Information on shoe care
- Use shoe polish on leather, but why?
For smooth leather models, our Shoe Polish is the best choice. Blundstone Benelux has been producing this beeswax-based formula for years. The wax nourishes the leather while restoring its water-repellent properties, making it a convenient two-in-one care product.
-How often should I to care of my leather Blundstones?
Leather is a natural material and requires regular care. We recommend treating your Blundstones once every three months under normal conditions. If your boots are frequently exposed to rain or wet conditions, we recommend treating them once a month to keep the leather nourished, protected, and water-repellent.
-How should I treat my Blundstones?
Make sure your boots are clean before using any product. If there is mud or dirt on the leather, remove it first using a soft brush or a clean cloth. Then allow the boots to dry completely.
Once the leather is clean and dry, apply a thin, even layer of Shoe Polish. Allow the polish to dry thoroughly. Once dry, your Blundstones are ready for their next adventure!

This is a complete care kit with everything you need to maintain your Blundstone boots.

The Polish Pad is designed to give your boots a quick and effortless refresh. This pre-treated sponge restores their well-cared-for appearance in just a few seconds. Perfect for when you're heading out and want your Blundstones to look their best.

Blundstone Shoe Care Kit Instructions
Suede & Nubuck Cleaner
Spray a small amount of cleaner onto a damp sponge or cloth and gently wipe the boots clean. Repeat the process with a second clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove any excess cleaner.
Do not soak the boots. Also, do not allow them to dry near a heat source, such as a fireplace or radiator. Direct heat can dry out the material, which may eventually cause the leather to crack.
Always test the product on an inconspicuous area first.
Caring for your boots is important. All Blundstone boots are made from materials that can dry out over time. Leather is a natural material and requires regular care.
Make sure you maintain your favourite Blundstones with the correct care product.
Different care products are available. Explore the range and choose the most suitable product for your boots.
Suede & Nubuck Eraser
Use the smooth side to clean the surface. Use the coarse side for stubborn stains or to restore the nap of the material.
Suede Brush
Use the brush together with the Suede & Nubuck Cleaner to remove stains, or use it separately to restore the nap of the suede.
Suitable for suede only.
-Can I use Rustic Renovating Cream on nubuck (rustic colours)?
Yes, but only on Blundstone rustic nubuck leather.
The label on the Rustic Renovating Cream states "Not suitable for nubuck and suede." This refers to nubuck and suede from other footwear brands. The Rustic Renovating Cream has been specifically developed and tested for the unique rustic leather used on Blundstone boots.
We do not recommend using it on nubuck or suede boots from other brands.
-Use the Rustic Renovating Cream
The Rustic Renovating Cream is a neutral-coloured conditioning cream suitable for leather, including Blundstone's rustic leather finishes, such as styles 585 and 587.
Please note that the cream may temporarily darken the leather after application. The characteristic rustic appearance will be preserved, and over time the leather will naturally lighten again when exposed to UV light.
Before applying the cream to the entire boot, we recommend testing it on a small, inconspicuous area first. Once you are satisfied with the result, treat the rest of the boot.
-Use Shoe Polish for Waxed Suede
Waxed suede boots are treated with a protective wax coating. For this reason, Shoe Polish is the most suitable care product for these waxed suede styles.
It nourishes the leather and helps restore its water-repellent properties.
-How should I care for my pony hair boots?
To maintain the pony hair, gently brush it in the direction of the hair growth using a soft brush. Never use traditional leather care products, as they can cause the hair to mat and become damaged.
Remove stains immediately by gently dabbing them with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not rub. Allow your boots to air dry naturally, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
Regularly apply Blundstone Waterproof Spray to help protect your boots. Store them in a cool, dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
-How should I care for my waxed suede boots?
To care for polished, oiled suede, regularly brush your boots with a soft suede brush. Always brush in one direction and use the Suede & Nubuck Care Kit.
Avoid excessive moisture, as water can cause stains and affect the finish. For stubborn marks, use a specialist suede or nubuck cleaner when necessary.
Regularly apply Blundstone Waterproofer Spray to help protect your boots. Always allow them to air dry naturally, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, and store them in a cool, dry place when not in use.
-I can see cracks in the leather. What should I do?
If you notice small cracks or wrinkles developing in the leather, it is a sign that the leather has dried out. Unfortunately, at this stage, applying a care product will no longer help, as the leather has become too dry to be restored.
-My feet are getting wet. What should I do?
Blundstone boots are generally water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. Please keep in mind that they are not rubber boots. If you spend extended periods walking through wet grass or other consistently wet conditions, moisture may eventually penetrate the leather. As leather is a natural material, it is naturally breathable and not completely waterproof.
-My soles are cracking. What should I do?
Blundstone soles are made from polyurethane (PU), a material chosen for its durability, flexibility, and excellent comfort. Like all PU soles, however, they can be affected by ageing. Over time, the material may begin to crack or crumble due to a natural process known as hydrolysis.
Hydrolysis occurs when moisture in the air gradually breaks down the polyurethane. This process can also be accelerated if the boots are left unworn for extended periods. Regularly wearing your Blundstones helps reduce the risk of hydrolysis.
As hydrolysis is a natural ageing characteristic of polyurethane rather than a manufacturing defect, it is not considered a product fault.

-How do I use the Waterproofer Spray?
Press the nozzle briefly and release it immediately. This will produce a fine mist of Waterproofer Spray. Repeat this several times to achieve even coverage.
Do not hold the nozzle down continuously, as this will not release any spray. Instead, use several short presses to create multiple bursts of fine mist.
